Blue
Baby Shower Food
If
the Mom-to-be is expecting a baby boy bundle of joy,
it might be fun to serve some blue colored foods.
It may be difficult to serve an entirely blue menu,
but just a few delicious touches of blue will help
carry the baby shower theme and show a lot of
creativity on the part of the host.
Salsa and chips is always a popular appetizer, but
instead of going with the traditional white or
yellow corn tortilla chips, select the blue corn
variety, which you should be able to find on your
grocery store snack aisle. Serve a salad with bleu
cheese dressing or bleu cheese crumbles.
In
addition to a baby shower cake with blue frosting,
you may wish to serve a blueberry cobbler or pie.
You may also be able to find blue gelatin. For a
brunch shower, you could serve blueberry muffins or
bagels, blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup, or
croissants with blueberry preserves. Be sure to
include fresh blueberries in a fruit salad or fruit
display.
Check the powdered drink aisle for blue beverages,
such as blue raspberry lemonade. Some gourmet food
stores also sell blackberry syrup that can be added
to lemonade to give it a bluish hue and a sweet
taste.
Dishes of blue coated chocolates or Jordan almonds
or blue jelly beans can serve as edible
centerpieces. You could also wrap up a few of these
candies as baby shower favors for your guests to
take home.
Your baby shower guests will be anything but blue
when enjoying these delicious menu items. With a
few accents of blue on the menu, you will impress
all those attending with your creativity and
culinary skills.
