Pink
Baby Shower Food
Pink is a popular color scheme for baby showers
because it is loved by big and little girls alike.
If you are hosting a pink baby shower, you may wish
to carry the theme to the food you serve. Even Sean
“P. Diddy” Combs served pink food and drinks at the
baby shower he threw with his girlfriend Kim Porter
before the birth of their twin girls. (See
Celebrity Baby Showers.)
Here are some ideas to get you thinking pink for
your baby shower menu.
You
could serve an elegant seafood dish with shrimp or
salmon. A tray of shrimp cocktail or smoked salmon
is sure to be a big hit on a buffet table. You can
also stretch these sometimes pricey ingredients by
serving an appetizer such as shrimp dip or salmon
mousse, or including them in a salad or pasta.
If
you are serving a green salad, you may want to toss
it with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. There are
several creamy and congealed fruit salad recipes
that have a rosy hue. You could also put out a
fresh fruit display with strawberry yogurt for
dipping.
The
easiest place to incorporate pink into the menu is
with dessert. You will definitely want to serve a
baby shower cake or cupcakes decorated with pink
icing. Round out the dessert menu with strawberry
mousse or ice cream. Pink iced animal cookies and
pink sugar wafers can be found in your grocery
store’s snack aisle. Put out dishes of pink
candies, such as jellybeans, Jordan almonds or
chocolates, or incorporate these treats into the
baby shower favors.
Don’t forget the pink beverages. Pink lemonade is
refreshing on a warm day. Shirley Temples would be
a fun drink option, just be sure to make them with
non-alcoholic grenadine. If you want to put out a
little extra effort, you could serve strawberry
milkshakes or smoothies. Strawberry milk would be a
simple but delicious alternative.
You
don’t need to hand out rose colored glasses at your
baby shower. Just incorporate some of these menu
suggestions, and everyone will be tickled pink.
