Baby
Time/Around The Clock Shower
Assign each
guest a time in the typical day of a baby and
mother, and ask her to bring a gift appropriate for
that time of day. With this type of shower, there
should be a variety of gifts with minimal
duplicates, but each guest will still have an
opportunity to choose a gift she likes that fits her
budget. If you have lots of guests, you could
assign the same time to more than one guest. Here
are some examples of times and gift suggestions
for each one:
Feeding Time
high chair, bibs, burp cloths, bottles, feeding
sets, nursing accessories
Time for a
Change diaper bag, diaper cake, changing table,
diapering accessories
Bed Time or
Nap Time bassinette, Moses basket, sleepers,
nightlight, crib accessories
Bath Time

bathtub, bath toys
Play Time

Time to go

cart cover, outfits, shoes
Quality time
receiving blankets, books, baby CDs

A fun game to play at this shower would be Baby Beat
the Clock. Divide the guests into two or three
teams. Give one person from each team a list of
about ten baby terms. That person will then give
their team clues to guess each word. Use a timer or
stopwatch to limit each team to 60 seconds. The
team that gets the most points wins. You could have
a second or third round if time permits or if
necessary to determine a winner. You could mix
things up by including names of celebrity parents or
titles of baby themed movies. You could also make
the game more challenging by having the clue givers
act out or draw their clues. Just be sure to give
each team a mix of relatively easy and more
difficult terms to guess so that it will be a fair
game.
